Oahu Hawaii North Shore Beaches

Head out to the North Shore of Oahu where miles of beautiful beaches beckon surfers from around the globe. Considered the Mecca of surfing, the North Shore features a wealth of stunning spots. Ehukai Beach is where you’ll encounter the Banzai Pipeline, which offers high-end surfing and boogie boarding in the winter, along with excellent swimming during the hot summer months. Waimea Bay is a top-tier snorkeling and swimming destination in the summer and a surfing magnet when winter arrives, though the waves are huge and scary.  Turtle Bay Resort Beach features a cove area for snorkeling and a beach which extends down the coast that’s a bit rocky and better for strolling. Kawela Bay is not only picturesque but not very crowded and features calm waters, making it ideal for snorkeling and swimming. Each December, there are three major surfing competitions, the Reef Hawaiian Pro, the O’Neil World Cup of Surfing, and the Billabong Pipeline Masters. These make up what has come to be known as the Triple Crown of Surfing. There are plenty of other fun things to do, such as fishing and picnicking, in surrounding Hukilau Beach Park, Laie Beach Park, and Kokololio Beach Park.
