Waikiki Cultural Activities
Waikiki Beach is a vacation paradise with its amusing aquatic activities and thriving nightlife. But visitors will also find much history and culture to explore in Honolulu and throughout Oahu. Visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, and learn about that fateful day in 1941. Spend an afternoon in the Polynesian Cultural Center – you’ll be surprised at what you learn of Hawaii’s roots.
There are plenty of other places of interest to visit, including the Iolani Palace, one of the grandest structures in all of Hawaii. The Honolulu Academy of Art pays tribute to Hawaii artists, past and present. The National Cemetery of the Pacific or Punchbowl is another place of honor, in this case a moving memorial and tribute to those who fought.
The Bishop Museum, Shangri-La, the Symphony – all of these venues are waiting to be explored during your next Waikiki vacation.
