Waikiki Nightlife
Honolulu abounds with lively nightlife with beachside bars, happening clubs and intimate jazz and wine bars.
Waikiki Clubs and Bars. Tourists as well as locals flock to Waikiki after sunset. Duke’s is an always-popular spot for friends to gather. Belly up to the bar and try the latest specialty drink concoction. There are, of course, other bars and clubs to try, some located within Waikiki Beach hotels, others within a few blocks of the beachfront. Like all of Honolulu, the dress codes in general are laidback and casual.
Chinatown. Honolulu’s Chinatown, located downtown, boasts a revived, hip scene after dark. Be prepared to bar hop from one venue to the next, with a wide range of choices including wine bars, jazz clubs, and DJs spinning in the house. Bar 35, Indigo, and Next Door are a few of the coolest spots to hang out. There’s also First Friday art walks in Chinatown, celebrating local artists.
