Waikiki Sightseeing
If you’re seeking beautiful vistas and picturesque beaches during your Waikiki vacation, you won’t be disappointed. Some come for the excitement of the likes of the Air Force Thunderbirds. Others to spot sea turtles and whales at the North Shore’s Turtle Bay.
Oahu Sights. The Nu’uanu Pali State Park Lookout offers an amazing view of Oahu’s windward side. It’s an extremely windy vista of the valley, and sometimes shrouded in mist, so be sure to bring a light sweater and leave your hat in the car. On the North Shore, Sunset Beach is one of the longest on Oahu at two miles in length. Winter finds the usually calm, clear waters packed with competing surfers. And for one of the best sights of Diamond Head, go to Mt. Tantalus, up Tantalus Drive. The mountain is over 2,000 feet in height and offers incredible views of Honolulu.
