Top 5 reasons to choose Hawaii over Mexico
Contemplating visiting Mexico for vacation? If you’re not sure, consider a visit to Hawaii instead.

Top 5 reasons to visit Hawaii instead of Mexico:
1. You don’t need a passport. Though we occasionally get that question, you don’t need a passport to visit Hawaii if you’re a US citizen coming from a US state.
2. You can drink the water. Don’t spend your precious vacation time, er, indoors. Hawaii has some of the best water in the world, and you can drink it right out of the tap (see: When in Hawaii, by All Means Drink the Water! Hawaii Vacation Blog, March 10, 2009)
3. Support America. In these unprecedented economic times, what better way to help your country than to support your friends and neighbors? If you’re going to spend, spend it at home! (Also, not only is is Aqua locally owned, but 30% of the company is owned by its employees.)
4. Mexico isn’t stable right now. You may have heard about the drug violence in Mexico. The U.S. Department of State issued a travel alert about Mexico, as did the Canada Department of Foreign Affairs. Even the governor of Texas is worried. Now, bad things can happen anywhere, but why take a chance?
5. There has never been a better time to visit Hawaii. Airfares have come down 50% or more from last year’s highs, hotel rates are the lowest they’ve been in a decade, and you need not spend big $$ on food, activities or shopping. In short: Hawaii is cheaper than you think. Plus, the last few years have brought infrastructure improvements and hotel renovations to the state. If you haven’t visited in awhile, you may be surprised at how “cleaned up” it is.
Aloha! (”hola” without the passport!)
