Congratulations, Leticia! Lodging Employee of the Year!

On June 16, Leticia Gamiao, a housekeeping employee at the 247-room Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotel, was named “Lodging Employee of the Year” at the national American Hotel & Lodging Association “Stars of the Industry Awards.” This isn’t merely a Hawaii-based award (which would be impressive in its own right)–Leticia was named most outstanding employee in her category in the whole United States!

Leticia was selected for her exceptional service to hotel guests, the community and co-workers. She personally writes “aloha notes” to all 20 of her guests on the 12th floor of the hotel, leaving them on the guests’ nightstand. In 2009 alone, she was mentioned in more than 100 guest comment cards and handwritten notes back from her guests.
